How long can you keep eggs? I have had some for almost 2 months and they don't smell and of course have been in the refridgerator the whole time. Thanks!

chances are the eggs you have are rotten...

When eggs become rotten, the yolk will turn green and the egg will emit a sulphurous smell when broken. Although deemed offensive by most Western palates, fermented eggs are considered a delicacy by some in China, when prepared using a special method which includes letting them sit for three months to age.

the normal self life is about less than 3 weeks

there is a chance that your eggs might be frozen
and that will extend the life of your eggs

Depends...the quality of the egg will gradually decrease until it spoils. The egg yolk will begin to get darker and the whites thicker. The problem is: you know how long you've had them...how long were they in the store and "in process' before they got to the store? If they are still edible, I'd use them up and replace them.

crack one open over the sink and check it out... I doubt that they are rotten but as already stated the quality may not be as good as when they were freshly bought. In Mexico you seldom ever see eggs stored in the refrigerator..

about 2-3 weeks past sell by date, unless it's close to Halloween, then all eggs must be *thrown out* by November 1st

2 months is nothing...as long as they don't stink, they'll probably be o-tay...
