HP Performance sells turbokits for the ford 302 mild to wild if your engine is in good shape there is no reason you cant turbo it 6-8psi 60ish mm turbo and realize a couple hundred horsepower gain on a stock engine. Will longevity suffer sure it will probably in the long run mostly due to you beating on it. Another engine can be picked out of autotrader for $600 buck for a used 5.0 HO.
Oh and about the Nitrous... a 60mm turbo has very little lag especially if you use a proper blow off valve to keep that turbo spinning.

Don't put power adders on old equiptment unless you like KABOOM! Buy a new low compression forged piston crate motor and specify turbo so you can get the drain backs in the oil pan and high voloume oil pump needed to oil turbo charger(s)?

I would consider looking into a engine rebuild first or a crate motor that can handle a turbo. You put to much boost to your stock motor and you can say good by to it and the money you invested in the motor. Here is a good link to start with for turbos;

tons...if its a standard 5.0 - 302...more or less the mustang engine, turbos are pretty cheap for them now...i suggest using a turbo combined with 75 shot nitrous to help you get through your turbo lag...check ebay for kits that people purchased then sold their cars...theyre brand new but priced as used.
