she asked if she'd left it at my dorm, and I said no, it wasn't here, even though really it was. should I give it back to her, or do you think I should keep it?
the thing is, I really like ipods, but I can't afford one of my own, and she's loaded, her parents give her everything she wants, so I'm sure they'll just buy her another one anyway.

So you're ok being a thief? And a liar?
If you need to save face, tell her you just found it.
Give it back.

If she hurt you, then keep it. Especially since those things are expensive. If you left on good terms (which is nearly impossible) I'd say send her a text and let her know you found it underneath the bed or something. If she comes and gets it from you then there's nothing you can do. Don't go out of your way to give it back though.

BE A MAN!!!
Only a wuss and a thief would keep the Ipod. It doesn't matter how rich she is or how poor you are. It doesn't belong to you. How would you feel if she kept something valuable of yours and didn't return it? Try being the hero instead and return it to her.

Give it back, or you're stealing. What do you think, you're Robin Hood, stealing from the rich (her) and giving to the poor (you)? Develop some morality and do the harder right instead of the easier wrong.

no, dont keep it. She asked you and you lied. Lie one last time and tell her you found it and give it back. Her parents getting her a new one is not a justifiable reason for you to steal it.

Nah, give it back, besides it will just tear up anyways because it has a curse. Good luck.

You should give it back. Maybe you can just tell her you have it, and shes going to have to pick it up. Make sure your out or busy the first couple of times she tries and she might just lose interest and than you can keep it with a clear conscious.

I can't believe that you hesitated, GIVE IT BACK. Tell her that it was in a drawer or something but just because she's loaded doesn't make it ok to steal from her.

Personal ethics are not subject to circumstance. You'll give the iPod back not because she needs it, but because it's not yours. To keep it is to steal...if you're a thief, then that is where your ethics lie. Choose who you are and act accordingly.

If you do, you'd just be a thieving jerk.
Save your pennies, buy your own, and give her stuff back to her.
Right of ownership does not equal right of possession. Just because she has money (and you don't) doesn't make it right for you to keep her stuff.
