Its is normal i have several tattoos and the outline dose this allot, its where the out line uses a bigger tip therefore causing a bigger scar as it were, when u have different blood pressure u out line will be come raised this is due to the out line being deeper as well u will find that the colours will not do this as it hasn't gone as deep and they use finer tips for the colour getting more in so they can cover a greater surface area

mine does too. i think its something to do with the needles since the black outline is done with a different needle than the ones used to shade it in with. there is nothing to worry about especially since it has been 6 years since it was done. if it was ink poisoning i believe the side effects would have been more severe.

It's normal. Well, if your artist got a little deep with the needle, it's normal. A tatoo is esentialy a scar, some of MY other scars swell from time to time.

yup mine does too.. just the outline. very common. asked my artist and his wife who have been in the biz for 20+ years and are heavily inked.. they say lots of people get it, including them, and no one really knows why. kinda cool though when it does happen. :)

Ha- mine does that too. I asked a tattooer why and he said it can still be a reaction of your body to the ink. It is still a foreign substance. Mine only does that when I am sick! So maybe it is because my body is working on getting the unwanted out?!?!

Mine all do that and the oldest I have is 13 years. It must be fairly normal.

Its an inflammation. My henna tattoo (temporary) did that, and the tattoo itself faded away but the inflammation left a scar.

That's not good. Go to a tattoo artist other than where you orginally got it done and ask someone about it. If your still not sure go to your doctor.

Ask your tattoo artist what kind of ink he or she used. If it's metal-based (cheap ink) chances are you are havning an allergic reaction to it.
