I'm actually going to try live a bit further in land maybe as far in as Brookton or Beverly (due to house prices being cheaper)
What I want to know is where abouts the mines are and what they produce
I'm only choosing mine work as it is well paid so I can get a better house closer to Perth and I won't get sun burnt in the process!!!

Fat sausage above^^^ is a d*ckhead, of course we know it as WA as that's what we call it!

The mines have millions of jobs available at the moment in WA, to find which one suits you best log onto the following sites

Officially oz now has a shortage of trades qualified skilled labour totaling 270,000, so getting a job and a sponsor will not be a problem for you.

WA mines; coal, iron, gold, oil, ore, bauxite, uranium and copper

www.seekwa.com.au
https://secure.liveinaustralia.com/skilled/default.asp

when you log onto seek and enter your deatails it will give you a list of approximately 130 jobs that have become available in the past 24 hours in WA mines.......good luck.

also QLD and NT mines are also desperate and both offer excellent prices on housing.....QLD not only offers a very affordable lifestyle, but its also on the East Coast and not as isolated as WA and NT.

The mines pay well but it's not a great lifestyle. All of the cities are also looking for tradespeople and you'll have a good supporting lifestyle to go along with your job.

Check out some of the jobs websites mentioned earlier then compare the wages to some of the jobs in the cities. Try seek.com.au. A quick search there looking for the keyword 'Electrician' came back with 1,078 jobs. In fact the first one there came back with a job working on a Tropical Island Resort in the Great Barrier Reef. Give me that over a mine any day!!!

Truth seeker,
Aussieblond is right, not only about the fatSauage knob, but also the websites and availability of work.
If you are going for money, you are on the right track, but some of those places really are in the middle of NOWHERE! There is a great life to be had out of it, but for GODS sake plan on when you are going to leave and stick to it!!! either settle in an Oz coast town/ city or go back to the U.K.

Dont just limit yourself to the mines themselves though, what about the ports that export all the finds. Freemantle, Exmouth, Roeburn, Port Hedland, and right on up to Darwin, as you come down the east coast, sparkies are a bit easier to find and you might not get the same rates - Tho you do have more to spend it on!

Your call, Enjoy!!

i work for one of the many mining companies in WA brookton and beverly are nice but quite rural if your used the the hussle and bustle they may not be what your looking for,
our mines produce a wide variety of minerals, gold diamonds, mineral sands, iron ore, the list goes on,
just be careful on the geography its a big place and very few mines are close to the city some are 1000's of km away

I live in Mackay.,Queensland and we have heaps of jobs going here as well for 'leckies ...around the town businesses,,out in the mine sectors and also in the transport industry that supports the mines,,eg. Queensland Rail, they are always after skilled workers.

I think you mean Western Australia. Many people are not going to understand that.
WA stands for Washington State, USA. That or British Columbia would be a better destination for you and you could work in the Fresh Pacific air!!
