I consider myself a strong, independent individual most of the time. I have been divorced for 4 years now and have dated periodically. By the way dating can really suck sometimes. Throughout the years, if my dating life seems to go badly I keep running back to one ex-boyfriend in particular. We have great sex and just being with him or having him in my life puts me at ease. I already know there is no future for us so why do I keep running back to him?

Because you are not secure of yourself. if you knew how much you worth you wouldn't allow that situation

It is not in our physical or emotional make up to be fully independant or alone. Nature draws us together for the purpose of procreation. So, we naturally become lonely when we are isolated from human contact. We miss it and need it. Familiarity breeds comfort so we return to old habits to re-establish that comfort zone. The true strength lies in the ability to look deep into oneself for contentment until the next person comes along to fill the void. Dating is a ritual, time consuming and costly both emotionally and finacially. Patience is truly a virtue not many of us possess. If you do return to a familiar past relationship, please use the maturity that you possess to accept it for what it really is and expect nor request more that what is there.

What it sounds like to me is this person is like a security blanket. IT IS TIME TO LET GO. I had this problem too. Move on and find someone that you like, have great sex and a possible future. The dating life does suck but its like a tootsie roll pop. You have to suck to get to the good stuff. It may take a while, but be strong. It is in there!

FAMILIAR TERRITORY, Why does a child run home when its hurt? To find love and comfort from whoever is there. Mostly the love of a parent. or in your case an EX. Ever ask yourself what are you doing to this soul that you keep running to? Maybe there is a future and you don't see it. Why does he let you come back??? HE LOVES YOU BACK!! Look at it in a third persons view and you just might find whats been there all along....LOVE COMFORT and SECURITY Good luck

It's your comfort zone....he's comfortable and you need that because you have no one else..

and yes being single does suck sometimes.....I have been single for 5+ years now...left an ugly relationship of 11yrs.. I am SO much happier now..

look around...look on the web...I use adult friend finder. It's a sex site, but you can take it from G rated to XXXXXXX rated if you want... I have met so many great men...

thank goodness for my sex buddies.....

take care and good luck.....

Because he is giving you some thing that you need. You need to have a sexual relationship that coexists with your emotional relationship. You can do whatever you want to do. You are completely single and care free.So as long as you are happy for now when the time comes you will meet someone you can in a relationship with!
