You are very young and would put yourself at risk by drastically reducing your food intake - this in turn will cause severe problems both physical and psychological in the future.
Everyone has encouraged you to exercise and they are all absolutely right - but there are a variety of forms this can take.
If you are concerned about wearing sports clothing in front of your class mates, then how about joining a sports club? Or, if its possible, take yourself off for a 20/30min walk when you get home from school - I don't mean a casual stroll, I mean a brisk walk - the type that makes your heart beat a bit faster and makes you breathe harder - This is called power walking and is good vascular exercise - it makes the heart work a bit harder, the blood is pumped round faster because the muscles need more oxygen - the muscles all over will become more toned because they are being used more. Within a very short time you will start to see the benefits.
If you do this at least three times a week (more if you can) you will quickly see and feel the benefits, the puppy fat will get burned off and you will start to develop a very attractive physique. If you feel a bit of a cramp while walking, try holding your sides and slowing down a bit until the cramp has gone, but don't stop walking. In a very short time you will have pushed your metabolism rate up and so will use the energy in your food better and quicker.
Eating - if you feel peckish during the day, drink water and if you like eat celery or carrots or apples or oranges (I personally prefer oranges) - good for the digestion and no calories worth thinking about!
Hope the above helps.
[As a 48yr couch potatoe for the last couple of years - it's time I took my own advice and returned to some power walking too!!]

Eat breakfast
Eat smaller meals regularly throughout the day, (little and often)
Exercise regularly and often

I think your "mates" are probably not calling you names because your metabolism is slower, but, I would guess, because you are not as slim as some 13 year olds.

If so, the above advice is still what you need to do, and you should also cut down on some things that you eat that have lots of calories but aren't all that good for you - like pop, (coke, fanta, and other fizzy drinks in their NON-diet versions,) crisps and snacks, sweets and chocolate, and fried food like chips.

Getting more exercise is not just about playing football or rugby or squash, but it also means generally moving about more. If you get a lift or go on the bus at the moment, could you safely walk to and from school, or some of the way? How about spending an hour a day less on the computer and using the time to do something that you enjoy that is going to help you use up some of the energy that your food provides for you, and that you may currently be storing as fat? Doesn't have to be a formal sport, although that's a very good way, and would mean mixing with some (perhaps NEW) mates. Could be gardening, or looking for lost golf balls at your nearest course - you could sell them and use the money to buy something good.

Help your family with some of the stuff they do - like taking rubbish to the tip, or vacuuming the carpets. With your parents' permission, offer to help out an older person - a neighbour perhaps - who isn't able to do quite so much for himself nowadays. That would also help you to feel good about yourself because you had done something nice for someone.

If you do some or all of these things, you will soon have more mates, and the ones you already have will begin to look at you with more respect.
I wish you luck.

DO NOT STOP EATING!!!!!

When your body does not get enough fuel (food) it will go into "starvation mode" this means that your metabolism will actually slow down and anything you eat or drink your body will want to store. If your body is storing and not burning then you can actually gain weight.

My best advice to you would be to ask a parent or a trusted adult if you can meet witha nutritionalist. If you're looking to trim down then a nutritionalist can help you eat the right kinds of food. exercise is also important. If you can't go to a gym either at your school or in your town then look into walking, or you could do easy exercises at home like push ups and sit ups and etc. Have you thought about joining a sport at your school? That is also a good way to get some exercise. Exercising and eating the rights kinds and mounts of food will help you to speed up your metabolism.

I'm so sorry people are calling you names at school. Some people do that because it makes them feel like they are better than other people. They are creeps, and one day the tables will be turned on them. I can promise you that.

The main thing to help is exercise!!! There is also evidence that Green Tea can speed up metabolism so try having a few cups a day. Also the higher the muscle to fat ratio the higher the metabolism. So building muscle and lowering fat will help.

Do moderate exercise like bike riding and walking. Start with ten to fifteen minutes per day if you want. Don't crash diet it can make the cravings worse. Believe me I have friends who have been there. Eat what you like in moderation. Oh by the way my friends that were made fun of are now success full in life. The ridicules not so good. Good luck and don't stop trying. Kara.

My friend, please look at this from a different perspective...
If you put rubbish in you get rubbish out.

Eat as much as you want, just make sure it's healthy food, fruit etc, and excersice.
Nearly all food today is pre-packed full of all kinds of additives, fat etc.
If you eat pure foods i.e. nature's food of fruit and vegetables (with no or minimal cooking) and excercise regularly you will see the pounds drop off and you will also get stronger.
There are lots of misnomers, for example, bread is not actually healthy it fills you full of gloop that helps keep your weight high.

Not possible really, metabolism is mostly pre-determined.

If you want to lose weight, exercise is the key, plus eating healthily.

Stop eating Big Mac and fries!!!
