My dog is a Akita - Beagle Mix. She is a small dog, not over 40 lbs. She is preganut, she is due around November 1st. . We already have people who are interested in the puppies which we are going to give to good homes. (with her we have 3 dogs) I was wondering how many puppies we could expect, This is all new to us and not sure much about dog pregnancy.

Beagles can average 2 -14 puppies per litter. The average is 7 according to most studies.

OK Well the mounting thing is way off. We had a dog that got mounted once and had 11 puppies. Our dog that just had puppies got mounted 4 times but we have 8 puppies. She is a Pit Bull. I would say that you could expect 6 to 8. There is no real way of knowint till she has them. Even taking her to the vet for an x-ray isn't completely 100%. Puppies can hide in there. Good luck!!

It depends on how many times they did the "wild thing". For each time the male dog mounted her, you can add two pups.
