Feeling less groggy then yesterday. I feel mad and irritated. Like I could flip at times, but I contain myself. Sad too. A little more anxious. Had some abdominal pain too. Is this normal?Anyone else felt like this? When does it go away?

Any antidepressant takes about 2 weeks to get into the system and level out.
You don't mention the dose, but if it's a large dose and it makes you feel tired and groggy, then break it in half and take it in 2 separate doses. Do this until the 2 weeks are up.
Abdominal pain is a side effect, so it is normal to feel this way.
Sometimes, with these drugs, the side effects are what cause people to stop taking them. They can be unbearable at times.
Try to stick with it because they usually subside in a couple of weeks.

Honey,I'm probably not one that should answer this, but when I saw Zoloft,I had to share some of MY thoughts with you.First,I realize everyone is different, and what works for one may not work for another. When I was put on that med.I wanted to kill my husband(not the one I have now)we were having trouble, and I was having a hard time dealing with things.I knew I couldn't kill him,so I tried to kill myself.I've gone through allot in my life, and when you're in the depths of hell, sometimes suicide can sound like the solution.I had in the past only one time entertained that thought, but on Zoloft I acted on it.And the problems I was having when I tried this, were nothing compared to what had happened in the past.My own personal opinion is that stuff really should be taken off the market, and I'm surprised it hasn't.
The woman in Texas,a few years ago that drowned her 5 kids was on Zoloft. Now I know there are going to be people that will say, that's just an excuse. No,it's not.Like my dr.said to me when I was brought to the hospital after my "incident",she says to me "an anti-depressant can't make you feel like that".REALLY! It's messing with your brain chemicals! If it can change you from depressed to "happy",then why could'nt it have an adverse affect? Not every med works for everybody. In the last 10yrs.I have heard on the news about kids killing at schools, they were on Zoloft. This last episode of school shootings,on Zoloft.A few years ago,in L.A.,a woman threw her children over a bridge,on Zoloft.Several cases where kids have either tried,or suceeded in killing their parents,on Zoloft.I don't know, but I'm going to try and find out when I finish here,if there's any write ups on the Bad effects of Zoloft.
Now, it may work for you. Only time will tell. But PLEASE pay attention to your feelings. If what you're feeling now doesn't stop, within a week or two,or if you start having thoughts that are not normal for you then get back to the dr.A.S.A.P. If they tell you that you haven't been on it long enough, take charge and TELL dr.don't ask,TELL him/her you don't like the way you feel, and if they won't change it,you'll go to another dr.I don't know how depressed you are,but if you're mild to med.depressed try Lexapro,I've been on it,my husband was on it for a few months after a death in the family. And I know several people that take it,and don't have any problems at all.
I hope you're going to a professional, and I mean a psychiatrist, not just your family dr.cause if you had cancer, you'd go to a speciallist.I spent way to much money on anti-depressants that were prescribed by a g.p.I finally went to a psychiatrist, and the meds he put me on,are what I need for my paticular situation, and I feel better than I have in years.I know this is very lengthy, and I'm sorry.I just hate when I hear of someone being on Zoloft, and knowing that the dr more than likely hasn't told you anything about the possible side effects. God bless you,I pray you're fine.

Be patient with it. It helped me a lot. But it needs to build up in your system. It takes at least two weeks to really start feeling the effect (though sometimes sooner). Also, I was taking it in the morning and I couldn't sleep at night. On my doctor's advice I started taking it in the night and now I sleep fine, so maybe you just need a little adjustment like that to overcome the grogginess. Talk to your doctor. But most importantly, be patient. And good luck.

I tried it for 2 weeks. It made me unable to work. Zoloft treats the symptoms. There are natural supplements that treat the cause of emotional problems. I would put down the Zoloft and try these for 2 weeks.
SAMe
5-HTP
L-Tyrosine

I think you should try and refrain from the urge to analyze every day, mood, and feeling you are experiencing.

Meds help 40-60%, the other 40-60% is you and outside factors.

It takes antidepressants several weeks to reach full effect. You may need dosage adjustments along the way as well. Be patient and be patient with yourself. Cut yourself some slack, it's only the second day.

i think you should stop taking it.it shouldn't be that severe right off the bat especially if they say it takes weeks to get in your system.
imagine what you will be like in a month if it continues in the same trend.
not worth it.

Takes around two weeks to kick in properly, so keep on going with it. You will come good.
