Ive just come bck from majorca palma 3 days ago,we went to gatwick airport going and we was not allowed to take no liquids at all through with us in our hand luggage,only medicines.I saw alot off people getting pulled over and bags searched for bottles off water and these were taken off them.But when we came bck through palma we was allowed drinks etc so check with the airline our going with or check on this website BAA.COM very interesting website.

Upto 2 to 5 KG easily and can take sample as much u want and u can also take these as ur child requirement.

For small pieces there's no problem, at least I had no problem till 1 KG.
