Has anyone used this as a defense in Court? Jesus told me to do it?

Curious, couple of people in the Bible do this, not with a cell phone they just kill people and say God told them it was ok.

Isn't that kinda . . . whats the word, psychotic or insane?

NO....I would not because I would instantly recognize that that was not the Jesus of the Bible,

Jesus said HE is the same yesterday today and forever and He can not lie. The Christ of the Bible tells us to love our enemy and do good to those that abuse us.

I can not tell anyone they did not hear God BUT I can tell them that if this voice they heard told them ANYTHING that contradicts the Bible..it was not the GOD of the Bible..but satan coming as an angle of light.

That is not the nature of Christ and christianity. You can take what ever you ant out of contect, but that simply detracts from any oint that you might be trying to make. Christ taught peace and that he that lives by the sword dies by the sword. Lest you throw out the Crusades as an example, recognize that that occurred before the printing press and the reformation; both dramatically changing the direction of the church from its corruption during the dark ages when men and politics did all sorts of vile things in the name og God.

Only if the caller ID said it was Jesus.
But I don't believe He needs to use a cell phone to get His point across but neither would He tell me to kill anyone.
Remember the 6th commandment?
In plain english it says: "don't kill".

No first of all Jesus never killed anyone and would not ask a follower to do so either. So I would question who was really behind the phone call.

If the reception was really bad, it's always possible he said "thou shall NOT kill such and such ..." On the other hand, maybe he tries to phone in a hit and says "Go out and kill ..." and then runs out of money on his pre-paid account.

Would you be more likely to trust a call or a text message from Jesus?

If Jesus called me on any kind of phone I would quickly record and have the call traced to some Arab country and get that big reward for that Ol' Sneaky Rascal Bin Ladin.

Yes, it's totally insane. It is also insane for a person to tell their signifigant other that they don't believe in god anymore thanks to something that they did. Can you say, mega guilt trip with a sprinkleing of the invisible sky pixie on top. Barf me out!!!
Been there, heard that. Oops, off topic, back to your question.....
No, I would not kill anyone because a voice said to.

Listen to the words of Jesus-
Matthew 5:44
"But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,"

Please show me who in the Bible did that.
And, no if Jesus called me on a cellphone, it's not Jesus.
Jesus can speak to someone through dreams, events, and he does not use a cellphone to speak to people.
