Hate/anger because they can drive people to wars, and killing others

Hatred feels very powerful, and my guess from personal experience is that the endorphines emitted from the emotion can be addictive in many cases, but the human body and spirit can only handle so much of this this kind of emotional processing. Eventually hatred gives way to exhaustion and despair.

The type of love that the ancient Greeks called fileo (boy meets girl) can pack a pretty powerful punch as well. But this also is not necessarily something that the body and spirit can sustain and derive sustenance from on an continual basis.

These are just 2 examples of powerful emotions, and both of these kinds of emotions wax and wane.

Did you know that white water rapids only occur in shallow parts of a river? Did you know that the more still a river appears to be in its movement, the deeper it is?

Love based upon principle would seem to me to be the strongest emotion that an intelligent person can feel - human or spirit. It was this type of love that allowed Jesus of Nazareth to undergo what he did and remain true.

It was this type of love that allowed Job to do the same. It was also love based upon principle that allowed the first century disciples to withstand the persecution that they regularly endured.

It is also this type of love that God displayed when he went to the lengths he did to reconcile mankind to himself. Love based upon proper principles is the strongest emotion - the strongest motivating factor in the universe.

Grief and or hate for some it can last a lifetime, they can be uncontrollable emotions. Grief can push to suicide, hate to violent insanity. These two emotions are the most damaging to the soul the spirit and the physical body.

Pain. Having been through an experience that made the fundamentalist lake of fire version of hell look like a walk in the park.... pain.

I will never forget that howl. No human should be able to contain such pain.

Love. That's the only emotion that will make you turn all of your priorities and values upside down. But any other emotion may become sometimes stronger if it comes out of proportion.

Jealousy. It's sort of a "gate way" emotion that leads to others. Rage, fear, anger, lust....all these emotions start with jealousy at some level.
