If you do it too much it can make your hair brittle to the point of breakage. I don't know that it does permanent damage though (that the hair that grows in after the dying would be affected).

Your hair grows from within. The color is only applied to the surface of the scalp. It does not end up in hair loss.

no!! it can decrease the stregnth and thick ness although it will not make you go bald! colouring is just rough on the hair to begin with.. but just take care of your hair as well with the right shampoos and conditioners and it will help your hair out a lot!

I have seen evidence to point both ways. My dad's friend has done it most of his life, and even in his 50's has a full hear of thick hair. However, I went to school with a girl who used to let her mom die it for her when she was younger, and she was already getting thin on top. So, be careful!

It has happened... but usually due to bleaching roots and leaving it on too long.
I have been dying my hair ever since I was 11 and now I have a compulsion to dye my hair so I do it a lot. my mom always says "It'll fall out!" But it never does.

I have colored my hair for many years, and I have never experienced hair loss.

I think the only damagae you can do that would cause hair loss would be to bleach your hair on a regualr basis.

Not necessarily. Over proccessing of hair can make it brittle and damaged and break off but not hair loss.

only if you dye it a really extreme colour, you decide you dont like it, it won't wash out and you end up having to have a really drastic cut to get rid of it.
