Can tension headaches happen one side of the head?
I get these headaches usually on one side. It ffels like my head is in a vise being squeezed from the back of the head all the way to the top and frount. Its not a throbbing, but it is a very tight squeeze.

I get these all the time. My doctor says they are tension headaches. I also have TMJ and that doesnt help. I just take tylenol migraine. It seems to help.

Hi there, I was just diagnosed with both chronic migraines and tension migraines. My doctor said that both of these didn't have any kind of set pattern (keep to one specific part of the head). Yours sounds like a sinus tension headache. I would take some sinus medicine and see if that helps. If it doesn't, then maybe go see your doctor and see what they recommend, I had to go see a neurologist to get my diagnosis, and now i'm on several medications to keep my headaches under control, but I feel lots better. =)
To the comment below regarding Excedrin migraine...my neurologist said that it contains benedryl which can cause you to become addicted to it overtime. Also, it can cause you to gain weight which I didn't realize. He made me quit taking that and all my over the counter medicine all together. I'm now taking Topamax 2 times a day which seems to be working very well. Kind of expensive but worth it! =)

Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or neck. Headaches can be
caused by minor problems like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more
serious reasons like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can have harmful side
effects, so it is better to modify your lifestyle. More information

It sounds like a tension headache. I suffered from these and went to a chiropractor. I haven't had one since. You need to learn relaxation techniques and excersises to help prevent these. In hospital these are easily treated with oxygen and a cold pack.

Yes, I get those headaches sometimes. Excedrin Migraine knocks it right out though.
