Why do you dislike it so much; most Christians I know (including me) help the world out so much like sending clothes and money to other parts of Earth.

I don't like Christianity.

I dislike what some "Christians" do, claiming that it's in the name of their God and their religion. I think they do themselves - and their religion - a disservice.

And since Christians aren't the only people who help the world out so much like sending clothes and money to other parts of Earth, it's nice to know that such generosity crosses religious boundaries.

First of all, I don't dislike Christianity. I actually *hate* it.

But it's Christianity I hate, not Christians. I mean, I hate cancer, not people who suffer it.

Besides, the world is not going to be fixed by sending clothes and money to the poor. It's by political action that it's ever going to change. It's okay to give, but it's very far from being enough. But still, I don't hate you. I hate the guts of your religion, for all the harm it's historically done and keeps doing. But not you. I see you as a victim.

Atheists could turn it around the other way. As many questions that are here that degrade Christians, there are just as many degrading Atheists/Agnostics. And, lack of religion doesn't equal lack of morals and compassion. Godless people send money and clothes to other parts of the earth, too.

Christian here. Love my Christian faith! I have no worries about tomorrow for I know whom I believe in and He is faithful to those who believe.

And for those who said above, that our money doesn't make it to Africa, or other parts of the earth. I know mine does because our church sends the missionaries out ... and any one of us can go on the trips when we desire. They go over to build homes, clinics, hospitals, to take shoes for kids who have none, to take medical supplies, to build water wells, and bring food to those without. What is sad is that 'some' hold on to money as if it will continue to buy them happiness and success, but insult others who use their money to help people.

{{edited to add}} to salient below -- It is only "organized crime" if someone forces one to give up their money. My church does not, and I have not heard any who do this. And regarding the people who are poor --- you assume this or you 'know' someone who does this? If they are poor, they have every right to keep their money. Their choice, not the church. There is also 'nothing' in the Bible which states you will burn in hell for not giving. Where do people get these ridiculous accusations. Please don't look blindly at all the TV Evangelist and assume all Christian churches are like them, as they are not.

If you are helping people because you really want to, then I think that's great. But I see too many poor people who have trouble financially taking care of their children who give to churches ( where the ministers drive around in fancy cars) because they are fearful that if they don't they will burn in hell. That is extortion and those churches that engage in that behavior are no different than organized crime protection rackets.

Just look around at the multi-million dollar church buildings, with fortunes in art on the walls. All gained through extortion and fraud.

I dislike Christianity because it constantly tries to push its beliefs on the rest of the world. That does not mean I dislike Christians. You are a person first, your lack of judgement regarding your hereditary selected religion is secondary.

NEWSFLASH: You do not have to be a Christian to be a good person. You can be a bad person and still be a Christian.

Most atheists I know contribute more to charity than the christians I know. It's not because of charity that I hate religion.

I hate religion because it is willful ignorance -- the use of the deific hypothesis to fill in the spots in science where the current answer is, "Well, you know? We don't know yet. We're still working on getting there," and instead use "Ah, we can't explain it, so God did it!"

Martin Luther on multiple accounts made comments about trampling out all reason because reason is antithetical to faith, that faith must completely crush reason.

Christians are not the only ones that do good deeds!
I have no problem with Christianity, just some of it's followers, mainly the ones that mean me harm.

I commend you for those actions, may God give you the reward for that. BUT, I have seen too many christians who are arrogant about this, and thus lose the reward. In some cases they don't do it themselves, their governments do, but still they are arrogant. If America is able to, why doesn't it take note of African Crisis, instead of spending billions of dollars waging war.

The original message brought by Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) was very noble, and I love him and his message as he called people towards the worship of one Perfect God, like all the previous Prophets did.

Being Muslim means submitting your will to the Creator in sincerity and obedience and attaining peace from it. All of the Prophets did so, and hence were Muslims.

Contrary to other religions, Islam, is not named before a person, place or tribe.

So, for muslims, all the Prophets from Adam (peace be upon him) to Muhammad (peace be upon him) conveyed the message of Islam (that is to submit your will to the Creator and ONLY him, in sincerity and peace).

Worship the Creator, not the creation.
