My mom thinks she has oral cancer, she has a soar in her mouth, doesn't hurt though. It has been there (under her tongue) for over 6 years. I think it looks like a blood blister... what could it be?

My mom has been to the dentist they have seen it, but never said anything about it, so does that mean it is not cancer?

It is just red, looks like she got poked with one of those tool dentists use to scratch your teath.

u have answered urself. any lump in the mouth existing for six years could not be cancer. and as far as the lump is concerned, it could be ranula which is a type of cyst, completely painless and harmless as well. don't worry ur mom does not have oral cancer and tell ur mom also not to worry about it.

Actually, the first poster to your question is incorrect, cancer, benign or invasive, can be present for years. The only way to truly know is to have your mom checked by a healthcare provider. If she doesn't have health insurance, go to a public clinic.

Fear and trying to guess because of fear is not a healthy option.

Peace and good luck...

6 years? And she hasn't had it looked at by a dentist or doctor?

If I had this in my mouth, I would see a doctor.
