I moved from North Carolina to South Texas last December. Before the move, I never suffered from any allergies of ANY kind. But now, am beseiged with nasal allergy symptoms. It seems that there's some kind of tree or plant or whatever that I am really having a bad reaction to. Has this happened to anyone else, and what did the problem turn out to be?

I grew up in TX and now am in NC. I've lived in 7 different states now, and here's the best advice I was ever given:
Try to find someplace very near you that sells local honey. As local to you as possible. Take 1 teaspoon a day (or more if you like honey!) This will help you acclimate to the new pollens.
I did this when I first moved to NC, and they only thing I seem to be allergic to is something that blooms at night (no bees around to catch their pollen!)

You can acquire new allergies anytime in life. Usually the cause is a new foreign plant or other allergen that you weren't exposed to before. Having just moved, that's most likely the case. Of course, people who have lived in the same place all their lives can also suddenly become allergic to things that have never bothered them before. That's the thing about allergies...so unpredictable. I'd suggest seeing a doctor; over-the-counter medicines just aren't good enough for terrible allergies like we have. Zyrtec works wonders on me!

Texas is the allergy capital of the world. I moved here from Nevada 18 years ago and finally had to start allergy shots. best thing I have ever done. Its takes 5 years for the entire treatment by I was allergic to the whole state. Please talk to your Dr. about it there is no since being miserable when there is something you can do for it.

Yes, it happened to me when I made a major climate change. It turned out to be exactly what you said: some plant that didn't grow in the old climate but did grow in the new one. I never identified exactly what it was, just the time of year I had to deal with it. You can see an allergist if you really want to pinpoint what plant or plants are bothering you.

Funny i moved from NC/SC to TX and had same issue. It seems that there is a different type of grass here that i am allergic too. You may have to use a prescription allergy medicine like Flonas/Nasonex to feel better. Also something called ragweed i know when its high i feel like crap.

Welcome to Texas!
I moved here from Thailand and have the same trouble.
For me, it's the Cottonwood trees.
