I know how hard that is to deal with. I've been there myself. You should start thinking about getting ready to say goodbye to your feline friend. 17 1/2 is a pretty good age for a cat. She's lived a good long life. Could be kidneys, not for sure though. Even if you take her to the vet, they will probably tell you the same thing. At her age, there's probably not a whole lot you can do for her. If they decided to treat her, it would just prolong her life a little more. Could be a month longer or a year, nobody knows. I know it's the hardest decision you have to make, but you have to make it for her. I recently put down my 18 year old cat and it was so hard, but she had no quality of life anymore. I just knew it was time.

I have a 22 yr old cat who despite failing kidneys and severe arthritis still has an excellent quality of life, uses her litterbox, eats heartily and loves to go out in garden for gentle sun time in the mornings.

Your cat is definitely in distress and could have a number of problems, many of which can be dealt with medically. So she needs your help now by taking her to the vet and seeing what the problems are, what the prognosis is and hopefully enable her to have some more years of happy life.

I had a cat I had to put down at 20. She was peeing all over, missing the litter box. Best bet to go to the vet. If it's early enough, they can cure it, at least temporarily. My cat had her first bought with kidney infection a couple years before I had to put her down.

She needs to go to a Vet. I had a cat who we had to put down at 24 and she was still making it to the litter box, she did throw up towards the end though. Just prepare yourself but hope for the best!

We have a cat that we guess is about 15. He sleeps alot, but no other problems. I think your cat needs to be seen by the vet. Good Luck!

If she hasn't done this in the past, something is wrong. Take her to the vet & be prepared that you might have to put her down. I had an 18-yr old cat who got cancer. I know how it feels.

our cat is doing the same things, we had to take her to the vets and she had a urinary track infection and had to take medication to get rid or it, and the vomiting part was from a sensitive stomach. we had to keep giving her different types of cat food and now we have to feed her soft canned cat food and that helps with the vomiting.
you might have to take your cat to the vets for the urinating part and the vomiting part try feeding it different types of food until u find one that does not cause the cat to vomit.

It may be. Or since she is old, maybe is unable to make it to the litter box, or can't remember. I would buy some pee pads (sold in the dog section) and keep them near everywhere she sleeps. Good luck.

Yes, get her to the vet. Poor thing...they will know what to do. That's so sad--good luck.
