just that was a mcdonalds and gave a seagull some fries and my partner said they eat everything,that they are scavengers

I'm not sure, but I've heard that ducks don't have taste buds, so maybe it's a bird thing.

birds do have taste buds about 20 compared with us at about 10,000 they just swallow so they have no need for them.

evrything that eats through a mouth orafis has taste buds.
its how amimals/insects chect to see if things are safe to eat.
if it tastes nasty its not good for you, basic rules of life.

can't answer whether they have taste buds or not, but aparently they can't expel air or fart so feed them alka seltser and the explode.
