There is a Mayan ruin on the island. Also, on te other side of the island is a reggae bar. They are outa the way. There is also a section that is protected because the sea turtles come there. There is a little bar there, no electricity and an outhouse. Don't swim there because it was the strongest current I have ever been in. It was scary. Rent a jeep!On the way to the other side f the island, you will pass a little place called the PeePee station. You can get some great deals there. Barter with them!

Make sure to rent a scooter and ride around the island. There's also a few bars around the beach. Most people speak Mayan and Spanish but some do know English, especially in the tourist area. Avoid the area where the cruise ships depart.
