All sorts of ways. Practice is a good way to start, but you're also going to want someone who you consider a good writer to critique your work, and then talk to you about it. Talking with other writers is a great way to exchange ideas and improve. Another idea would be to see if any authors you like have written books or essays on writing. Many well-known authors, such as Stephen King, have books full of advice on how to improve your writing, and they're really worth a look.
Good luck!

Practice as much as you can try to ask someone educated, like a teacher or well spoken friend. Here is some advise. If you can write a short story than you are an excellent writer. Yes it is very simple to write one but to be able to elaborate have a moral. It covers all, maybe many of the skills you may need to be an excellent writer. I am a fan of poetry personally.

Practice, practice, and repeat! Try: journaling, crosswords, poetry/song lyrics, and writing real letters instead of abbreviated emails. If you want to work on the "technical" stuff, pick up a good writers handbook such as Hacker's.

Read, use crosswords, anything to build your vocabulary. Then write from your heart.
