The only way to shave CLEANLY is in the opposite direction of hairgrowth..which means bumps..so I say use a dipilatory like Neet or Nair for the bikini line. They also make creams that take out the redness and minimize bumps after hair removal procedures. I'm sure you can find them at your local drugstore.

If you wanna shave first wash the area and apply shaving gel(most prefered)
then use a razor with anti-clogging system(they are the safe ones)
and go on.
But i recommend using hair removal creams
If you shave your private hair(especially if your a girl) then you're most likely to grow it back sooner and tougher.
SO u decide

Plucking (tweezing), Shaving, Depilatory creams and Waxing are temporary hair removal methods.
Waxing usually lasts for 3 weeks, but it is painful.
Electrolysis and laser hair removal are "permanent" hair removal methods but are expensive and you have to find a trained professional, otherwise your skin could be damaged.
A review of the various hair removal methods is available at http://tinyurl.com/ob6tt

Go to the tasteful treasures website and order coochy, its a shaving cream for girls/guys. I've been bump/burn free for years now. You can pick it up at a adult novelty store also. If you are shy about going into stores like that then order online.

believe it or not...never use a new razor....use one that you've used on your legs a few times, because that won't irritate your skin as much....i personally apply a thin coat of Dove deodorant after I have shaved that area, because it protects just like it does under my arms, of course, be careful of crevices if your are a female, and only use it on outer, shaved areas

well, one way to eliminate bumps in that oh so private place is to actually use a face wash, such as noxema. the bumps can be a form of irritated bumps from oils and what not, so i tried it, and it really worked,
