I would like to find information on regional Tuscan dialects. I have friends in Florence and Rome and have noticed small differences when they speak. I speak Italian as well. Speakers would be a great help. ciao a tutti!

ciao!
im not italian :(, but i live in florence for the last 4 years. i came to italy not knowing a single word of italian, i had no idea, ciao meant hello and goodbye, thats how bad i was. however living here so long, ive gotten adapted to speaking not on the regular italian, but the big 'fiorentino' dialect. '.. ma che vuoi?', 'n'dov'eh?', 'tu che dici?' the problme with me is, i cant tell sometimes when i speak it or not. some of my teachers have a good laugh knowing that im a californian, speaking the fiorentino way. i dont know whether that is a good thing or a bad thing.

anyways, about your question, i had actually written a question like yours similar in italian a couple of months ago asking for a dialect book as a reference and i actually got a good answer check the link below.

however ill let you know one interesting fact, unless you already know this. the tuscan dialect kinda changes individually. i mean to say, i have a frined from arrezzo and she has her own little arrezzo dialect verses another friend of mine who is from borgo san lorenzo and he also has his own type of accent. its all similar, but it different in little ways.
