I think the accent is still on beeing friends and not just on using each other for sex. So basically you have close connection, but for whatever reason in a long run this relationship can't be serious. The main thing BOTH of you have to feel the same way about this relationship. You can go out together when there is no other dates; you can call each other after dates gone bad; you can cry on each other showlders about some other dating failures and do all kinds of other stuff that friends do. And if u both feel at any particular moment feel like having sex - you do it, but you know that this is just a part of feeling good together, and not some sort of binding act. After that u can cuddle all you want, but just know that the next day (or week, or month) be ready to congradulate each other on finding the real passion.

Friends with benefits never really benefit anyone but if you choose to enter such a relationship then these are a few things to keep in mind:

Its a game so set up rules and stick to them.
If you are one who tends to allow themselves to become emotionally invested in every relationship you have, then this is not something you should consider.
If you get your feelings hurt easily, this isn't something for you either.
Don't allow the other person to make you feel less than good about yourself; if you can't make a "date" when they can, oh well. Life goes on.
Don't expect to exactly be spending much time with this person with clothing on. This is all about sex and that's all it will ever be. Its called friends with benefits but its never being friends.
Be cautious about who you share your secrets with--
If at any time things aren't working, tell the other person and move on.

In order to be friends with benefits you must be able to have sex without having feelings with one another. You must absolutely CANNOT get jealous if he is around any other girl. You can kiss, have sex, fool around, and make out, BUT YOU CANNOT HAVE FEELINGS FOR THAT PERSON. But that is just the main regulations, all of the little sidebar regulations are up to the both of you if you choose to have them. Just make sure both of you can come to an understanding.

rules?

lol..... well ok..

rule #1 - you have to be friends. You can't be just someone you have sex with
rule #2 - you have to have had some discussion that the sex is just sex for sex's sake.
rule #3 - you both have to buy in that the only "relatioship" there is one of friendship and that the sex is just a release not an expression of love between you two.

rule #4 - you BOTH need to be using birthcontrol!!!

There are no "real" rules. Just when two people are not totally committed to one another, but there is definite attraction. Two people are very close friends, they just do boyfriend and girlfriend things without the title.

There are no simple rules. Physical activities will always complicate matters to a certain extent. You should brace yourself for that.
