i'm a 23 student , i ve been on celexa for about 6 months , it gave me a ~1 month relaxation at the huge cost of it side effects : i gained about 10 kilos in 6 months , the effect on libido is so frustrating , and it basically turns all the feelings of anger and frustration into depression !
2 days ago i decided to stop it without notifying the doc , and i couldnt even wait to decrease step by step so just from 60 mg i stopped it altogether , now it's about 36 hours after : i can feel kinda charged up , i didnt sleep at all last night but am generally OK.

i was wondering if any of u guys here has anything to share

Sounds like it is not working for you. I hope you see a psychiatrist that listens to you. Taper off gradually. Then see if you can try something else. I am on Depakote-ER and Effexor XR and for bipolar it works great, but I tweak the Effexor and Depakote dosage based on symptoms.See the doctor

I am 21 years old and a college student I have been on celexa for about 9 months now. When I fisrt started it I was at a very bad place so it saved me from myself. I started on 20 mg but that was not enough so my docter raised it up to 30mg but that was to much. I could not study or focus. Now I am at 20mg again and so far its is been helpful, but I lowere my amount to 10 mg and my head started to hurt really bad, I started to cry a lot again and I could not focus. So now he made me go back to 20 mg. I think you need to talk to your docter to change your med from celexa to something else because if you gained a lot of weight that could be a bad thing. But you should not just stop taking your med with out talking to your docter. I hope that helps.
Take care of yourself.

DO NOT STOP taking it without the assistance of your GP! You may feel fine for now, but wait a while and you could wind up in serious trouble. I took Celexa for over a year and when I came off it I had to be weaned off due to the risks associated with stopping it too fast. I tried to come off like you did and the result was devestating! PLEASE! Even if it's only for a couple of days til you get to the Doc...go back on it before you hurt yourself!

i'm on 5 MG of Celexa and on the commencing up it could make you sleep and become bored in daily events even with the undeniable fact that it gets greater advantageous after a month or so. I been happening and rancid it accidentally bc I forget to take it so it threw me off and made me worse even with the undeniable fact that it does pass.

well i ve read about the bipolar thing and can find some similarities but clinically speaking i ve only been diagnosed with adult ADHD and a slight form of dyslexia , but the reason the doc prescribed me celexa was cause of some troubles i started to have with people around , it did make me kinda indifferent

@ xsuperrock : well i guess your body is much more responsive than mine , i have a history of doing stunts with drugs so i'm not that much worried about what i'm doing , but mainly wanted to hear from other ppl about the god damned medicine

before taking it i had trouble with controling my anger and aggressiveness but during these 6 months i realized how real DEPRESSION feels like, u just become so weak and miserable

If you're bipolar it sounds like going off of the Celexa has caused a shift in your mood, making you manic. Beware, what goes up must come down.
