This last year has been quite a blow on me and my family. Granted, my wife and I are fortunate enough to both be working, but we have acquired some very hefty medical bills that are breaking us. In the last year, I have had my knee broken with reconstructive surgery, I had heart problems so I had to have it all scoped out and they found a bad mitral valve and a small hole in my heart, I had one trip to the hospital where I thought I was having a heart attack, plus my 3 year old and 5 month old went on a spell for about 4 months where they were both sick and no matter what the doctor gave them, it wasn't helping them, but they are fine now, thank God. Plus we have that delivery of our baby that we have to pay for. We give as much as we can to the Church every week and anything else that we possibly can spare to whatever comes in our path. We are just hoping that this time, someone could help us in our time of need. We are negative at our bank and we have no food, please help us???

Start with your local food bank. No forms, just help with food. Then look into WIC (women and infants with children) they provide food to families that need it. You can qualify for food stamps as well.
For the medical bills I would go directly to the hospital billing department. Often things can be done to help with medical expenses. Don't be shy to ask if they can reduce any of the costs to you and your family. Ask if they have a social worker, this is one of the things they are there for at the hospital. They don't just help with social/emotional things.

Also talk to your church/pastor/priest. Most churches have funds set aside to help those in need. Ask if you would qualify for any of them. Good luck and God bless.

Im a mother of 6 kids.No moiney in the bank.22 month old in and out of the hospital with asthma and severe lung infections. If what you are saying is true then where is your money going? You both work you said.I dont think you take your money and pay hospital bills off and let the family go hungry. No reason for no food to be in that house where a 5month old and a 3yr old is living.Im not putting you down, just things dont add up.If I could help I would.Do not let the lil ones go without food.Sell something.A tv,stereo or anything. If all fails and you dont have food on your table tonight please call social services and let them get those kids till you 2 are back on your feet. Please dont let them starve.
