An Atheist does not acknowledge any higher intelligence as the source of the universe. A Theist does.
Athiest- "There is no God"
Thiest- "There is a God"
Theists break up into 2 divisions Monotheists and Polytheists. Monotheists believe there is one God. Jews, Muslims and Christians are all monotheists.
Polytheists believe there are multiple Gods. Hindus are polytheists and the ancient Greeks and Romans were polytheists.

THEIST AND ATHIEST BOTH ARE BLINDFOLDED OR SUPERSTITIOS.ONE BELIEVES AND ANOTHER DISBELIEVES GOD.BOTH ARE UNSIENTIFIC AND IRRATIONAL.HOW CAN AN INTELLIGENT PERSON BELIEVE OR DISBELIEVE ANY THING WITHOUT KNOWING? TRY TO FIND OUT, WHETHER THERE IS ANY GOD OR NOT AND IF IT IS, WHETHER IT IS KNOWABLE OR NOT AND IF IT IS KNOWABLE, THEN HOW TO KNOW IT ?ACCORDING TO ME THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AN ATHIEST AND THIEST IS ONLY THIS THAT AN ATHIEST IS A THIEST IN A HEADSTAND POSITION I.E. SHIRASASAN.

A theist is a person who belives in God (or a God) whereas an atheist is a person who belives there is no God.

Theists believe in at least one god, if not many.
