Your cat is just bored and has nothing better to do. There is nothing that you can do about it except get out a video camera and record this silly pet moment.
If you buy your cat some toys, he will just ignore them and continue to play with his feet.

My sister's cat does that. That cat is mean. I guess when it has no one else to beat up, it has to expend its daily allowance of fifteen minutes of non-nap time energy and really go nuts. Is it just me, or is it true that the meaner a cat is, the smarter it is too? Seems that way. Mean cats will even play fetch, you should try throwing little toys and see what that CR-AZY cat does.

He is not fighting with himself, he is most likely just playing. He is bored and chasing after those back feet are cheap intertainment!!!!

He's got the "crazies" and he's playing. A lot of times they will do that with a toy in their paws.
