Almost everyone in the World dreams of comming to America and live the American dream.

Latin American countries are not as depressed as say, Sudan, Darfur or Korea or a lot of other African countries.

America sends Mexico $40 million dollars a year in Financial Aid they are not starving! Yet they jump to the head of the line and DEMAND citizenship!

ANYONE who isn't a US Citizen should try to get citizenship the legal way.

Everyone wants the American dream, but the American dream only applies to true citizens who deserve it. Those who do not belong here have no right to take part in it.

The money we send to Mexico mostly goes to their fascist government. The citizens don't have it so bad - Besides, they obviously LOVE Mexico since they always wave their foreign flag in our streets.

They don't deserve any pity - You don't see American citizens who are poor or homeless breaking into people's houses demanding they they let them reside there - and on top of "free housing" they demand free healthcare, etc. It's pathetic. They need to stick up for themselves. We're not their mother.

Apply? Cheat? Well, since there is so very little to lose by cheating, I would cheat were I that person storming the border. The fault lies with our U.S. government which has lots of laws on the books (you listed a few in another answer) but they are purposely not invoked - except when necessary to appease the populace. I know most QA'rs do not live in areas such as the Southwest, as I do, so they are not aware that the federal laws are NOT enforced. Because of Special Order 40, the LAPD cannot arrest an illegal when he is deported and returns to the U.S. and may be a suspect in a crime. They have to see him commit it. You and I? We go to the clink just because someone points a finger at us.
So, to summarize: Seven - 12 years wait, if fortunate, following application to emigrate vs. jump the border and get a job, rent an apt., get free medical care at your local hospital ER, free education for your children, taught in their language, welfare and medi-cal (with good phony documents), in-state tuition at community colleges, ability to commit a wide variety of crimes and not be scrutinized lest charges of "racism" be leveled, freedom to join or start a gang, etc. etc.
I'll cheat, thankyou.

I think they need to come legally under laws that properly limit immigration to protect our schools and services. That means not everyone who wants to come to have us pay for their children's education will be able to do that, and it will take years for some who do get in to get in. That does not make it ok to drain our services by coming illegally. There is no right to come, at all.

I think we have set a fine example for them to follow....

SPOKANE, Wash. - At least 135 federal employees, including a White House staff member and National Security Agency employees, bought bogus online college degrees from a diploma mill, a lawyer in the case against the mill operators said.
Some of those who paid thousands of dollars for phony diplomas include a senior State Department employee in Kuwait and a Department of Justice employee in Spokane, defense lawyer Peter S. Schweda said Wednesday.
The bogus degree purchases by the federal workers were revealed Wednesday during a U.S. District Court status conference for five defendants in the case against the mill, The Spokesman-Review reported Thursday.
None of the federal officials was identified during the conference.
"We're not going to disclose who bought these degrees until after the trial is under way," U.S. Attorney James A. McDevitt told the newspaper.
The alleged ringleaders of the bogus diploma mill, Dixie E. and Stephen K. Randock Sr., were indicted in October 2005 on charges of conspiring to commit wire and mail fraud and laundering almost $2 million in diploma mill receipts from 2002 to 2005. The indictments were the result of an eight-month investigation into the mill.
Eight workers at the diploma operation have been charged, including the Randocks.
On Tuesday, Kenneth Wade Pearson, 31, webmaster for the diploma mill operation, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud and receipt of child pornography.
Pearson said he would provide evidence and testify against the Randocks.Pearson, who likely faces three to five years in prison, remained free on a $10,000 bond. The judge postponed his sentencing until December 2007, two months after the Randocks and three others are scheduled to go on trial.
As webmaster, Pearson set up and maintained as many as 125 Web sites for sales of fraudulent college and high school degrees worldwide, investigators wrote in court filings.
More than 10,000 sexually explicit images of children were found in four computers used by the Spokane-based operation, government lawyers said, but only Pearson was named in pornography charges.
Material provided to the defense by the Justice Department shows at least 135 government employees bought college or university degrees to use in seeking promotions or pay raises, Schweda said. The phony diplomas came from such places as St. Regis University, James Monroe University and Robertstown University.

they need to go through the paperwork process just like everyone else, every country has immigration processes we are absolutely no different.. and yet I keep seeing questions about giving illegal immigrants legal status

This one is for the guy before me..... Immigration is movement of people from one nation-state to another, where they are not citizens. - no country, no citizens, no immigrants

Ditto, please don't be naive it's not just about applying there are requirements to get legal but most important then that is this.
should a head of the family do nothing when they see their family go hungry remember that most of illegal immigrants risk their life to get here so they can get a job and yes they send their money to Mexico or other country because is there were their family needs it. I have small kids myself and other than killing or harm other people I will do whatever it takes to feed them and take care of them even if I risk my life, remember that not long ago it was only a misdemeanor to cross illegally. So dealing with racism and unfair human treatment is nothing to all those people that risked their life to get here. I AM PROUD OF THEIR ACTIONS AND I HOPE THEY PROSPER. GOD BLESS THEM. and of course I am not talking about criminals.

Please "United we stand" do some research before you adopt the myth that they demand free housing and free health care. illegal immigrants do not qualify for any of those services.

And YES our poor and homless demand we take care of them.

Cheat on what?! Nobody is going to argue with you that they should apply and go through the necessary paperwork, but for some of them waiting it out in their country for the 4-10 years it could possibly take for it to go through so that in the end they could be denied is in most cases the difference between life and death. Wouldnt you think that if it was that easy and their situations less urgent they would have all done it that way?! Why is it necessary to demand that they do it our way and then make it next to impossible for them to achieve that?!
