Well first of all, you'll have to get off the computer... and dump all your electronic gadgets, then turn off the electricity, sell your car, get rid of the cell phone, learn to ride a bike, learn how to cook from scratch, make your own clothes, believe in God, pray every day, spend all day Sunday either at church or doing nothing. Then perhaps you will be ready to go visit the elders, and become a part of the community.

well being born is a good start. But just because you're born into an amish family, doesn't make you amish your whole life. I know plently of people that used to be Amish and aren't now, many years later. So i guess it could be possible to become amish. The reason they are considered amish or not, is if they belong to the Amish church. So I guess you could join.. some how!
