I've heard from plenty of friends that they are in on off relationships. But in most of those relationships, it's not serious - for example, one of my friends has a girlfriend he's been on and off with. He doesn't talk about her, or if someone mentions/teases him about her, he changes the subject. His parents don't know about the girlfriend and he doesn't seem to care for them to know. On top of that he doesnt know if this is even a long term relationship even though it's been on and off for two years He doesn't take her seriously. Shouldn't people like that not be together? Then I have other friends who are in on off relationships that are a bit more serious, and some of them have even gotten married by staying on and off for years. How stable is an on and off relationship? If someone is not serious, why can't they break up with their significant other? What does it mean to YOU to be in an on off relationship with someone? Isn't being committed better?

On and Off means i'm with you if i don't have anyone else better than you. This is not a relationship this is a friend w/ benefit. This is slao another way of not feeling lonely, thay just don't want to face the world and themselves of being single.

the situation varies with each couple. for example, I'm in an on/off relationship w/ a guy. we have many things in common, we love being with each and make the most of our time together. however we have very different views on what being a couple is. i believe being in serious relationship means enjoying all the things i mentioned above, for him it's getting married and having a family, which i don't mind only I'm still 20. see we are a "couple" because we keep our relationship monogamous(his choice) and do everything a regular couple does. the only thing we don't do is call each other is live together.

1. It could be a long term relationship that keeps "breaking up" cuz of fights and then someone gets lonely and the go at it again.
2. It could be a one sided thing and that person wants to hump the other occasionally, but doesn't really love them, so he/she puts up with a relationship to get the fringe benefits.
3. Both people just want to hump each other.

Relationship is the best meaning in the world All of us cant live without that we must search for the best relationship in order to facility our life all of us must feel that we are completely desired from the other If love establish during our relation then we can say that we have succeeded in our friendship Of course there are many factors help us to assist our love especially between the man and girlfriend we cant consider that the sex relation is one of these factors but truth , honesty ,alternative feeling with love are most of principals factors of declaring deep feeling of love All of us must ask himself this question Have you the ability to make sex relation with other and in the same time you are already fell in love with another if the answer yes i can say frankly you didn't know the love because first you must respect your self to make other respect you I hope to hear from you that you live in love so you will the happy man in the world Dr wagih

It depends i guess on how the relationship is.. I dont personnaly think u should do that cause what if the other is cheating on u with someone else.. If u are gonna have a on off fling then u dont need to be serious.. strange situation

On and off relationships really mean to me the person wants this person when in need of whatever attracted them to the person in the first place. With me you have 1 shot at having a relationship and if u break it off with me, that tells me I don't won't to be with someone that doesn't want me except at their request.

In my late teen years we called it Casual Sex - not relationships. Hassle free, no strings, get together once in a while for some fun and extra indoor activities......

in my opinion an on again off again relationship is one of those relationships where you get into a fight and break up...make amends a short time later...then get into a fight and break up...see the pattern?
the only good thing about them is the make up sex.
