My husband wants biscuits tonight & the exp date says 10/6...it's 6 days old & looks ok. Should I still use it?

Yes, the buttermilk is fine. Buttermilk has bacteria added to it to slightly "turn" or sour the milk. So, if you think about it, its already spoiled!! Buttermilk is like sour cream, as long as it is shaken, mixed, or stirred often it will last much longer than the expiration date.

I agree, I think it's okay. Make sure it smells like buttermilk and hasn't gone bad. I have used unopened buttermilk a whole month after the sell by date.

Yes, use it. The date is "sell by" not "expires by." Milk will last a week or longer than the "sell by" date, especially the fattier the milk. The more fat, the longer it lasts. Thus, buttermilk and whole milk will last much longer than skim or 1% milk.

I think it should be ok, make sure it smells good, milk can be good for up to a week after the "sell by" date, plus, you're using it for cooking.

i believe so. all you have to do is call the supermarket you bought the milk from and they will tell you!
