I am trying to find Advantix K9, cheaper than our vet. Alot that I find say there is no expiration date. When I get from vet, it is only one tube at a time and not the package to see if there is an expiration date. Also....Which do you feel is better advantix or frontline? I live in a wooded area and have 2 Boxers. Please help....thank you

Almost all medication has an expiration date however if you are unable to find the expiration date then from the date of purchase I would not use it after 6 months just to be on the safe side. I am a truck driver so, I have my pit vacinated for lyme and anything else I can have her vacinated for because she runs in alot of foreign areas wood, fields etc. But the flea and tic pill works the best in my opinion. As far as "better" between Advantix or Frontline I think it depends on what your pet responds to the best. But my Vet always uses Frontline on my Pit.

Does K9 Advantix Expire

I, too, had the same problem trying to find the exp date on the tubes, the box, the wrapper. It was not on there anywhere, unless it is some special code.

Re: Frontline vs. Advantix, my previous Beagle was always on Advantix until I moved to Iowa. When I got there, my new vet always used Frontline. I tried it for several months, and Teddy began to get a "tic" for lack of a better word....sort of a bobble head thing which just appeared every now and then. When I switched back to Advantix, after a few months, he stopped the twitching. I don't know why it only happened with Frontline, or if there was even a for-sure connection, but I am not taking a chance anymore.

I just checked my box of Frontline inside and out and it does not list an expiration date. I checked the website and under FAQ's is does say that it will not expire if kept in the original packaging and in a cool dry place. I could find nothing on the K9 Advantix website.

According to the Vet Depot, K9 Advantix does not have an expiration date as long as you store unused containers in their original packaging and at room temperature.

I am a veterinary assistant and at our hospital, we prefer frontline to advantix. If you live in a wooded area, you should have your boxers vaccinated for lyme (ticks carry lyme disease) and use a flea and tick repellent, like frontline. If it doesn't have an expiration on the box, look on the tube itself, usually there is an expiration printed somewhere. If it's older than a year, don't use it. It probably won't work. Hope that works for you!

Advantix also repels the insect that causes leishmaniasis. as opposed to frontline. All drugs have some expiration date. Are you sure it is not on the end of the tube? (not the end where the liquid comes out from, the other end, like tubes for human ointments). If not you must check the parcel. Or contact the company who produce it and ask.

Most medicines have a expiration date. If the vet is splitting a case ask for the date when you purchase it
