Laziness. Don't want to have to put effort into fixing something and hoping you might have missed an easy option the first time you looked. Or looking with the hope that some of the same old stuff will suddenly sound good to eat.

I think it is force of habit. You look quickly and nothing catches your eye or stomach in this case. You close the door then think about what you had the other night and if there was any left over. You do that several times before you just choose something quick and easy.

I am guilty of this also, I hope something appears from the refarigerator elves or maybe an idea comes to me to prepare something different

I have no idea. But, my 4 y/o does it constantly and she always says she's just looking for something. I guess it's just boredom, because, she usually just takes out grapes to eat. Thankfully, it's something healthy!

mine does, after have opened it 3 times, I end up finding something, it's a suprise from it to me, cause it loves me, and it knows what to push forward from the back of the fridge.

I DON'T KNOW WHY, BUT I DO. I GO TO THE REFRIGERATOR AND JUST LOOK, BUT NOTHING NEW APPEARS.
