Contrary to most of the Christians in this forum who bash atheists. In my personal opinion an atheist should be praised because he denies believing in things "blindly". This doesn't imply that atheists _have_ to see God in order to be able to believe in Him. An atheist has a much more logical approach and an open heart, he/she is quite open to all the suggestions and atleast considers them. Moreover, they gain knowledge to defend themselves whereas a chrisitian or a muslim would be happy with less knowledge and just stick to their beliefs without trying to verify things by delving into the details.

I myself am a Muslim and I have a recommendation for atheists, considering that they are able to defend themselves with logical arguments.

I present to you Dr. Jeffrey Lang, a PhD in Mathematics, teaching at the University of Kansas, USA. A born christian, he became an atheist because of lots of doubts and then after some research turned muslim. Please read his book titled Even Angels Ask.

JP, as you have read the Qur'an, I highly recommend reading "Even Angels Ask" as you would be more comfortable with it.

Moreover, Lang start off by telling the reader to pretend if he/she is an atheist.

That should be encouraging for you!

Allah bless u - for u seem like an example other muslims should follow - I m pleased as I meet more and more fellow muslims who have a positive view of Islam. I am now a devoted muslim - once almost turned to atheism, no more confusion in my faith now.
Although I was born into a muslim family, I started to question Islam and faith since I was very young. Atheists had tried to talk me into believing there was no God. I kept on researching the web - went through the most anti Islamic sites, also went through Islamic sites. The sites only defied eachother and said things only against eachother. I decided to see for myself which side was true - and the truth had rung on me. I researched other religions and found them to be lighthouses to lead to the real truth - God's true religion, the religion Islam. I m glad others have found the same path - God bless them
Even Through all the negative media on Islam, we cannot deny the fact that Islam is the fastest growing religion in the whole world. Islam is turning as clear to us as it always had been. I ask Allah for forgiveness about the fact that I was so rebellious in my youth, favouring science to anything Islamic. But now i Know that science is just research which is everyday showing us the truth of Allah, His prophets and the Last Day. I will always be proud of the fact that I had found Islam through researching it, considering everything accused (wrongly, ofcourse) against it. I have understood Islam, Thank u Allah. I hope all who havent known true Islam find it with their heart - They do not know what they r missing.
Ever since my enlightenment, many of my friends, ahteists and agnostics have started to embrace Islam. Those who had been muslim r stronger than ever in their faith - Thank u for ur question - I hope it lightens those whose hearts have been confused with deception and misconception. I hope what I say helps. Assalamualaikum!

I understand where your comming at. I am atheist, I decided that logic could say he never did exist, but if someone could come along and prove me wrong then so be it. I started to read that book and never finished it, but i will look into it again ^-^

I think you are a big suck up to get people to convert! Even if an atheist was to turn religious, i think they'd rather choose buddhism. Even christianity has less crap than Islam!

As much as I don't believe that the book would change any of my beliefs, I appreciate your offer.

Forget this patronising praise atheism crap. Atheism demands neither respect nor requires condescension from religionists. Disbelief is a fact, deal with it.

Nothing against you or atheists, but they do disbelieve in something blindly, which is also assuming something without proof...

I'll do you one better. I've read the Koran.

I saw nothing in it to hint that there was any spiritual truth to it.

Fair enough, I'll see if I can find a copy.
