Being it is illegal, I don't think anyone is going to tell you on here. I would check out some web sites that have some plans for a "still" and go from there. I will say one thing, DO NOT ALLOW THE MASH TO BE HEATED ABOVE 185 DEGREES. If you do, you will hear a big bang and someone might be killed

In the US, it's illegal to make any distilled spirit at home.

http://www.ttb.gov/spirits/27cfrpart019.htm
"Sec. 19.131 Restrictions as to locations.
Distilled spirits plants shall not be located in any dwelling house,
or in any shed, yard, or enclosure connected with any dwelling house, ..."

So, assuming you have another location that satisfies that requirement, you need the applicable permits and such that they require. Tons of money and headaches for a bottle of booze.

HOWEVER, in New Zealand, Italy, Greece, and a few other countries I don't recall, it is legal to distill your own spirits at home, up to a certain volume. Assuming you're in one of those countries, all the possible information you could possibly want (much more in detail than you'll find here) is at:

i might recommend mason jars, the type with the separate marvelous and ring in spite of the fact that i'm effective the Jack Daniels bottle is high-quality - the whiskey won't age, mature or pass undesirable as quickly as in a bottle or jar. commercial whiskeys are elderly in o.ok.barrels for a era of years to supply it the colour and style. i'm curious to be attentive to in case you distilled it your self, or in case you only made a mixture (wherein case, it would not be whiskey in any respect).

It is legal to distill your own spirits, but you need to purchase federal and state permits. There are several sites available...look at http://www.home-distilling.com/
there are others, too.
