It drives me nuts !
Some people think it's kool, but I think it's unprofessional and annoying. How would they like it if, while in person, they ask me a question and I sing them a song before I answer them ?
I think I'll do that from now on !

I think a lot of people like to express themselves in a variety of ways. Oddly, people choose to leave songs on their voice mail message but it's still a form of expression.

Here's a solution. If you're calling a cell phone, there is a key you can press to bypass the voice mail message. For T-Mobile it's the # key. Some businesses have long messages because they have to include office hours. This method allows you to skip that.

So if you come across one, try some keys out. The person who made the recording stays happy and you get your sanity back.

It's annoying at the very least. It's a waste of my time and I don't want to hear music when I call someone. Cut to voice-mail please!

I also have no patience for long-winded outgoing messages or cute little three-year olds on the outgoing messages. Sorry, it's just not that cute folks. Also, don't let your kids answer the phone until they are old enough to write down a message legibly.

Let's go back to some old-fashioned telephone etiquette please.

I think its ok if it's just friends or family calling, but I don't think it's appropriate if the phone is used for business. It's annoying and a waste of time to have to sit through all that just to leave a message.

Creepy Peer Pressures.
Some people don't have a clue why they do 1/2 the stuff they do.
I think they are lacking originality. They can't get their message
correct so they opt out for Stupidity.

I don't really care for a song ring tone. All my friends have them but I don't. I think its annoying.

That is rude. If you aren't going to answer the phone, turn it off. Esp. turn it off if you are in a meeting.

I have the theme to the exorcist because I enjoy it, but I will turn it off when appropriate.

The tune tells you who's calling. Use spell check!

It just shows that they aren't creative enough to come up with their own introduction, so they have to steel it from a celebrity
