can I use my US MERCHANT MARINERS CARD for any type of Discounts like renting a car or air fare..?

I would bet that many retailers would take that as being in the military, even tho the US Merchant Marine Service is not technically the military.

So I would have to say yeah probably. best way to find out is to ask Enterprise or Avis or the Airlines if you are eligible for a discount for being in the Merchant Marine.

It's worth a try. Ask them if they give discounts to miltary people.
