Because that combination of letters when pronouced by a non-lisping person sounds similar to the sound of a person with a lisp. It makes it easier for us non-lispers to talk behind their backs - For example the phrase "that guy sounds like a retard with his lisp and all" is much more descriptive than "that guys sounds like a retard with his inability to avert pronouncing s sounds at inappropriate times"...
See what I mean? I hope this helps - good luck out there.

You stole my question! I am mad at you. Not really.
Anyway, I think that the person who made that word either was sitting in the desert to long, wasn't thinking, or didn't like someone who had a lisp.

No. Probably easier for a lisper to say, even though I don't think anyone took that into consideration when naming the condition..
Why is this such an interesting question to some? I see it every couple of days.
I think it's just a passive aggressive way to make fun of lispers.

It's an onomatopoeia, a word that sounds like the concept it describes. Like BANG! or meow. It's the same reason "stuttering" has so many t's.
