Average: any of the following numbers:
1. Arithmetic mean: Sum of all items divided by the number of items.
2. Median: Half of number are above and half below this number.
3. Mode Most common number in set.

Even if these numbers were close to each other (they aren't), there is no such thing as an 'average' household. Any number you get in response to this question is meaningless.

That is impossible for 43k per year for a single person. Thats for a dual earner income. In America the average salary for a single earner is about 28K. One in five Americans make less than 20k a year. If it is for a single earner that 43k is greatly sckewed by the 6% of Americans that make 80K and up.
