I want to cancel my membership because I don't have any free time to go. They say that in order to cancel it I have to get a physician proof that I am disable to go to the gym or that I moved 50 miles away from it.. I would love to get one of this documents without having a hard time.... any Doctor around?....

I'm going to guess its a Bally's contract, from the sound of it. You are really on a payment plan, where you bought something for a large sum of money (think like a car) that you are paying overtime. But like when you drive off of the showroom, its your car and whether you drive it often or not is immaterial.

Your only option is to payup or accept the credit hit for defaulting. If you allow the charge to go to delinquency, you may be able to settle the cost by negotiating to pay a lesser amount. You might even want to consider calling them up and tell them that you plan on defaulting unless they agree to accept 50% of the fees owed to them. Its probably more profitable for them to accept that then to send you to a collection agency.

If you signed a contract for a term of service, then you need a lawyer (different forum) to attempt to break the contract. The cost of the atty will be greater than the dues you're paying.

Basically, you signed up, and you're on the hook. "No time to go" isn't a valid reason unless that is stipulated in the contract.

Any doctor making a misrepresentation and signing it has grounds to have his license revoked.

Honestly, trying to prove you moved 50 miles away will be easier than finding a doctor willing to sign their name to such a letter.
