The key for you might be to find a way to stop the coughing. Typically, coughs are caused by nasal/sinus drainage (gross). So go after that symptom. Unfortunately, most decongestants that work well also cause drowsiness, so when you take something over the counter, give your body what it really needs right now, and rest.

Eliminating the cough, and getting rest should help. If you want take something (as suggested earlier) for the back pain to help you rest. But I think that will take care of itself once it can rest.

Also, if the pain persists more than a day or two, you might consider a Chiropractor.

Persistant coughing will cause the musles to ache , it's an on going circle. Take an anti-inflamitory like a motrin or aleave.

Bad luck. Sounds like you have pulled something. Try taking ipobrufen pain killers and rest it. If no better after a few days, you may need to see a doctor.
