I am travelling from Manchester to Delhi. I know knitting needles are prohibited but does anyone know for certain if you are allowed to take a crochet hook on the plane? It seems daft because you can do no damage with a crochet hook, but I have once had a spoon taken off me, so I thought I'd better ask.

You will not be able to take a crochet needle as part of your carry-on hand baggage, you can put it on the hold for your arrival in India.

No needles etc are able to be taken aboard except for medical reasons.

Put these things inside the valise and you can go on e-net and get answers on all "prohibidos" at the airline links and NSA --so it is best to only carry-on as few things as possible ... check about a plastic crochet hook ( they look less like a weapon) ----the rules in UK are very strict be careful how you ask questions---phone ahead and have correct information......Wally

Don't even try it. Especially if you happen to have a Mediterranean or Eastern European look about you.
