this has happened before...but I have never know what was meant....but why is it when embraced in a hug and there is silence for a bit after making out with a woman....she all of a sudden asks...."What are you thinking about"

Now, thats the worse question, but it happened to me last night while on the couch...and I never know what answer they are looking for

Women love to know whats going on in a guys head, I don't ask that but if I did, I guess I would ask because I know what I'm thinking and I'd want to know if what your thinking is anywhere close to my thoughts. But it could also be that she is uncomfortable and just says anything to break the silence.

I believe that when us women ask this, we are wanting to know what you are actually thinking about, hoping it is about us, or we just want a connection with you. When she asks that, tell her what you are thinking about. Maybe she senses that you are drifting off and not thinking about her, that something else is on your mind, or whatever. Women are typically in tune with our feelings so we can sense things that most men can't. Don't worry about the question, it's a common one for everyone to hear at one point or another. Don't worry about what your answer is. There is no right or wrong answer--unless you are saying something rude or crude, that is. Just answer it honestly.

Ah yes, women stereotypically often ask this... I don't think we're looking for a particular answer, we just want to connect and genuinely care about what's going on with the other person. The problem is, when you ask 'What are you thinking about?' the other person gets distracted by the question and can't remember what they were actually thinking at that moment.

you i am guilty of asking that same question to my boyfriend and he would never answer me and now i know why . i guess it is kind of a crazy question to ask but women can do some off the wall things at the worst time. all we really want to know is are you laying there all in love and full of joy like we are. after making love with someone you care about all you really want to know is if they are on cloud nine just like you are. but anyway one day he did answer me which was about a week ago and this answer shut me up after that . i asked him what was he thinking about and he replied with a smile, and said you know what i love you and gave me the softest, sweetest kiss to the forehead. and i have never asked again.

I don't think we really know why we ask that question, because if you were to say I don't know what are you thinking about she'd be stunned too.
Just tell her the blood hasn't rushed back to your head completely yet and that the sex was so good that you can't even think right now.

That or catch her off guard first and say what are you thinking?

Hope that helps!!!!

She wants you to have emotion - I know that that is foreign to men but its simply - Hey baby that was a great kiss. rub, f**k, whatever. So next time you find yourself staring in mid-air just stop and think - say something anything at this point at least anything positive if you want her again. Just some advice from a women

I don't know but I have been in the same situation where a guy asks the infamous question.
I guess the truth wouldn't hurt....
(your carpet needs some cleaning)
(a little febreze wouldn't hurt)
(a little more color coordination would do the trick)

lol

Personally, I've never asked a man that. I think it shows a severe lack of self-confidence on her part. If you're "making out", as you put it, have had your hands all over each other, and your tounges down each others throats, you should know what he's thinking!

Basically a woman would like for a man to tell the truth. Did you enjoy it? Do you think she's beautiful? Do you like her lips? Do you want more? Maybe to many questions but that's really what women want to hear...at least that's my version.

If you are not saying anything, she probably is wondering what you are thinking. If she is a little insecure, and who isn't at times, she may be thinking that you are not really interested in her or that maybe she said something wrong, or whatever.

I've done this before--though at the time it was mainly to bring his attention back to me because it looked like his mind was wandering.
