Yes, I'm a christian and I'm being forced to visit an all-muslim church or whatever they call it. I cannot stand dresses, is there anything else I can wear that would be appropriate?

P.S. - Is there anything I shouldn't do that will offend them?

I'm not really being forced, but my friend wants me to go.

It is called a Masjid. Since you don't like dress you could always wears really loose fitting long pants, you know the ones that look like they could be a dress. If you don't have anything like that then please be sure to wear something loose fitting and modest, also take a scarf so that you can cover your head before going in and take off your shoes prior to entering. I think that is it very open minded of you to go and see what Islam is about. Please be respectful of the religion because it is not as bad as America portrays it.

Hi,

Muslims don't attend a chuch (that's for Christians) They worship in a Masjid or Mosque. Really it depends on what kind of Masjid you are visiting, some of them are more conservative and you should wear a long dress that covers your arms or a trench coat along with a scarf to cover your hair. Other Masjids are more open and you can attend in whatever (including long pants)you like as long as it isn't too form fitting or short. Try to call ahead of time to be sure.

P.S. Why are you being forced into visiting a Masjid?

Some nice dress pants and a blouse would be sutable.

As for the Etiquette, I don't know what they would consider offensive, so I would just sit by your friend, and observe. Let the muslims take part i their worship, and just obseve them, and maybe ask a few questions, like "why did you do ...? or what is the significance of...?
It would seem to me that they would be happy to teach someone else about their religion.
Have fun at church.

I think anything modest should suffice. A nice pant-suit or slacks and a long-sleeved shirt should work. And don't forget a scarf covering to cover your hair. I've never been to a mosque, but have taken a college course in middle-Eastern studies. Don't dismiss the experience just because you're a Christian, it could be very interesting, and Muslim beliefs are actually much closer to Christianity than you may realize.

First of all Its a mosque (not an all Muslim church)...and try to wear something decent...like a simple shirt and a decent pair of trousers with a scarf to cover your head (your hair) should suffice...Just dont wear something that exposes...

You're not being forced to go.

You should probably either follow the dess code of the church as a sign of respect or not go at all.

I feel ya girl. I hate dresses too. the shirt and skirt might not offend them but you might have to make sure the skirt is VERY long. these are people that dress very modestly. we are talking past the knee.
