The bible states that Adam was created perfect but his choice to sin changed everything. The bible says that the very earth groans from the result of the fall of Adam. His sin brought a sin nature into the lives of us all. As children we do not need to be taught to be selfish, or to rant and cry out for what we want. It is all a part of our sin nature. We all sin.. we all lie, cheat, are prideful, selfish, etc. Perfect is Gods original plan and form for man. Imperfect is what man became with his decision to be his own God.

The problem you have was the failure to define your terms. Perfection does not exists by itself, we have to ask, perfect in what sense? In what sense was Adam perfect? Is it the same perfection as God? The answer is NO. When Christians say that Adam was created perfect we mean that he was created without sin. He was morally pure and free from the ravages of sin that was experienced after his disobedience. In that state of perfection he would have lived forever.

Perfect is without sin. Like God and Jesus.

Imperfect is with sin.
