the red will eventually fade...but the easiest way is going to be to dye over the red with brown and re highlight your hair with bleach

You can't--the process of separating the red highlights for bleaching would be next to impossible. You'll just have to recolor your whole head and re-highlight.

if your hair naturally has red undertones blonde highlights may not look natural and may end up carrying and orange tint.

If you had them bleached to be red, just wait until the red goes I guess. If impatient, bleach it now :D!

You have to lighten them. If you want, you can use lemon juice or go to your local hair supply store and purchase lightener.
