Those two are sometimes intertwined definately not a good combination, especially when pregnant. When you are pregnant your emotions are usually going haywire anyways so you tend to feel more of those emotions anyways. If you experience stress at work and you use the stress in a positive way then it's okay, but if the stress is overwhelming you then you should avoid it. Depression in it's truest form is definately not good for you or baby. It does happen from time to time and you have to find a way to pick yourself up. You can't really chose from the lesser of two evils you should find ways to avoid stress and depression and take care of yourself and your baby to be.

That is a good, although sad question. In my opinion stress and depression are very closely linked and both. or either would have a detrimental effect on a pregnancy. To really be able to address this answer I would have to ask more questions. Is the stress or the depression related to the pregnancy itself or is this due to an outside influence? Either way I would suggest that you talk to your doctor and take his/her advice. If you do not have a doctor that you feel close enough to talk to about this I would suggest finding a new doctor.
This should be the happiest time of your life! Find out what is causing the problem in your life and get it taken care of!

I would say depression, because stress is a part of daily life. As a nurse, I see people deal with stress every day, and some stress can actually be a positive and cause one to improve their situation. Depression, however, causes not only mental/emotional problems, it causes physical problems too. People who suffer from depression tend to have erratic clseep patterns and less nutrition than others. Those are vital for a positive, healthy pregnancy. There are many things you can do to combat stress and depression. Do a search for depression techniques and look at yoga, meditation, and exercise. Also, check with your md before you start anything new.

stress is more detrimental to the pregnancy, depression is more detrimental to the fetus. You probably shouldn't be having children if you are depressed- you could get even worse when post partum depression sets in. That would be really hard on a newborn if you weren't mentally stable enough to take care of it.

Neither of them are good, but stress is worse. Stress will effect your entire body which in turn effects the fetus as well. It can also cause someone to have a miscarriage.

They are both serious factors, but I would have to say depression, bc there are things you can do to relieve stress. Depression can lead to post partum depression. If you have depression, you should talk to you dr about it so he can suggest a medication to help you.

i would say stress...because it can harm your baby...just because you feel depressed doesn't mean that your baby will. stress is dealt differently with the body. it can also lead to premature births.
