Nope your'e not being used. This is normal Feline behaviour. If a Cat likes you they will rub up against you. This is how a Cat puts their own scent onto you so if another animal sniffs around you, they will pick up the Cat scent and know you are "taken." I know it sounds silly but this is what my Vet told me years ago about Cats.

Cats will hang around you for food. If a Cat sleeps with you then this is a sign they trust you and love you because when a Cat is asleep and no longer keeping their eyes open, anything could happen to them. So if they fall asleep on you or with you, this is a good thing.

Your Cat loves you. Every animal has emotions just like Humans.

Cats are independent creatures, and like humans have different levels of needs for affection. The fact that she snuggles up in bed with you is a sign of affection (the feeding is just...feeeeed me, lol). I have one cat that rarely wants to be around us or be pet, and have two others that can't get enough of us!

Also, if your cat has had a previous owner, she may have been in a different environment and needs to get used to yours.

Yes they do really love us and sometimes we are being used.
Cats are very independent hence the fact that they do not spend alot of time during the day with us cos they are doing there own thing.
However they reserve their mealtimes and sleep times with us as they could easily eat and sleep elsewhere, they feel safe when they snuggle up and go to sleep with us as we are the last thing the cat sees at night and the first thing they see when they wake up, I think,,,,

My cat adopted me about three years ago. 18 months ago I took her to the vet because she had an infection. It turned out that not only did she have the infection but she had an overactive thyroid gland and a heart murmur. The gland had to be removed, which was a hard decision as it could have been fatal either way and she is on medication for her heart as long as she is alive. It cost me in the region of £2000 so far! She loves me as much as I love her but she does take turns in sitting on my other half and ignoring me. However, I take turn turns in sitting with my other half and ignoring her! Still, all's fare in love and paw!!!

I don't think cats have the concept of love in the same way that we humans do, but they love us in their own funny little feline way. Let's face it, we are both interdependent on each other. I, for one, couldn't live without my cat. I love her company, she makes me laugh as she is a complete clown, even my dog loves her but equally she needs me. I am SO flattered because she chose to move in with me. It wasn't my idea, she was a stray, looked around the house and had a cuddle with me and just moved in. Suits me just fine!
Remember, thousands of years ago cats were worshipped as gods and they have never forgotten this.

Belive it or no longer, all animals have emotions. Their thoughts/personalities/emotions are no longer as more suitable as ours, because of the fact their brains are so primitave whilst in comparison with ours. yet they nevertheless have the emotions which comprise worry, love, happiness, content textile, etc.... because their thoughts are not felt as strongly, and that they think of in yet differently then we do, they exhibit their emotions in completely diverse techniques that a lot of human beings don't comprehend. yet in a cat, some indicators to seems for happiness could nicely be squeezing their eyes close, and additionally purring. yet purring can be a demonstration of tension, or if the cat is in soreness. it incredibly is not any longer uncomplicated to income the have faith and love of a cat, even nonetheless it incredibly is not any longer impossible. in case you take care of your cat with know, it incredibly is going to sense it could have faith you and love you. it incredibly is going to know you decrease back (many times). Animals have a prepared experience of ways a man or woman is feeling; human beings could attempt to work out how their animals are feeling too.

LOL, I have no doubt I'm being used by my cat as a personal butler, hot water bottle, play toy... But I still worship the ground he walks on. Lets face it, he's got me wrapped around his little dew claw >_<

I certainly know they miss us. My sister's cat hangs round the door and mews forlornly for half an hour after she goes to work.

not being used - you'e just been adopted by the cat.

As long as you continue to feed her and be there at her beck and call, then she will love you.

in her way.

on her terms.

at a time to suit her..

sometimes...

perhaps....

if she can be bothered.......

....actually, I think you are being used. !!

but my 2 were exactly the same - and I think that's just cats.!

Good question though!

Yes, thats how cats are. Mine is the same but, when ever Im away from him he always gives me lots of attention when I return which tells me he misses me, and when I get my suitcase out he goes all moody with me and follows me around, even sitting out by my car as if he is waving me off. But as someone else said the adage is true, dogs need friends and cats need staff. But she does love you promise!

Of course not!!!
our cats love us to bits. why do you think she comes to you for her snuggle and her food. she trusts you.!
just like children. kids dont need to be with you 24/7 to love you do they.
sometimes cats just want a bit of time on their own and they lllluuuuvvvvv being independant.
Its their nature.
But i'm positive your cat does LOVE you.!
