I am a nursing mother of a 6-month old. I was wondering if my milk supply will dry up if I get pregnant while nursing? If so, how soon after conception? Can I continue to nurse while pregnant?

No, your milk will not dry up for as long as you keep nursing.

However, the safety of nursing while pregnant is a controversial issue. I've heard both sides. Here is a link giving you some guidance. (Read the entire article)

no your milk supply will stay the same. I actually suggest that you nurse threwout your whole pregnancy. When it is about time for new born to arive, your milk on its own, will turn into colostrum. (if you want this is a perfect natural way to wean your older baby) because the taist your older baby might quite nursing, and your new baby can now start nursing. If your older baby likes the taist, there is nothing wrong with nursing both. Your body will supply you with plenty of milk for both if that is what you decide to do. Good luck and congrats

No your milk supply will not dry up. It only dries up if you stop breastfeeding.

I have a friend who had 2 children 18 months apart and she breast fed the first until she was 7 months along with the second one. She stopped because she wanted the first one to be used to not feeding before the youngest one got here.

More than likely you will dry up but, there are a few women who continue to produce but very rare. All of the extra hormones inhibit milk production most of the time. If you really want to keep nursing ask your doc for a prescription for Reglan which is safe to take during pregnancy (I did) and be sure to drink lots and lots of water and to nurse frequently to keep your supply up. Good Luck

no squeezing out the colostrum will in hardship-free words help to alleviate the fullness and soreness you would sense alongside with some soreness from leaking. it wont supply up it from coming back and leaking, nor will it reason you to get milk till now the baby comes, the colostrum is basically basically the first step in education till now the baby comes, and that's what the baby will drink for the first couple days after delivery till the milk extremely is presented in. that's finished of fatty foodstuff for the baby and intensely widespread to initiate generating early or mid way into the being pregnant. strong success

Nope, your milk will stay active as long as you keep breastfeeding. I wouldn't recommend getting pregnant again so soon, but your milk supply will be fine.
